Get in the habit of joining us for our every-last-Tuesday-evening-of-the-month storytime!

ULTIMATE TUESDAY!

What's Ultimate Tuesday?

It’s a super special storytime, because every month the reader is either an author or illustrator, who made the books being read!

*Also, the first definition @ dictionary.com of Ultimate is: last.  So that's why we have it every last Tuesday!

What could be more ULTIMATE than that?

All listeners receive a prize as they walk out the door.

This month's special guest is John Abbott Nez, who both wrote and illustrated CROMWELL DIXON'S SKY-CYCLE. You can find him on the internet here.

This year during all the wild shenanigans that make up the 30th Annual Ballard Seafood Fest, we're doing something a little different.  We've unearthed the voluminous trove of children's book posters we've been assiduously collecting since 1995 . . . and we're offering them up for sale on a pay-what-you-like basis as a benefit for our friends at Page Ahead.  Come sort through our collection, take what you like, and pay the amount you'd like to directly benefit the fine work the Page Ahead folks are doing.  (As a suggestion, $6.96 buys one paperback picture book for the kids Page Ahead buys books for!) Some posters may be torn or new, some there will be many copies of and some will be one-of-a-kind.  Come sort through our treasure trove and maybe find a hidden gem! It's for a wonderful cause!

We'll roll out the posters at 4 PM on Friday the 9th, and have them available to peruse from 10-7 on Saturday the 10th and from 12-5 on Sunday the 11th.  Or until they last!  Page Ahead volunteers will be here to answer your questions and to motivate you to be generous!

Come take home your favorite kid-lit art, and support a great cause.

24 year old Maria Federici was on her way home from work in 2004 when a piece of furniture flew off the car in front of her. It pulverized her face.  This book is her mother Robin Abel’s story of a woman determined to rebuild her daughter’s life and change road safety laws.  Peggy Sturdivant is our very own Ballard reporter and blogger.
