He foiled an armed robbery, caught a rapist, fought coyotes and kidnappers, comforted elderly war veterans and Alzheimer patients, helped teach ASL to kids, amassed a vocabulary of nearly 200 words, helped rehabilitate hundreds of aggressive dogs and saved them from euthanasia. He was a dog in a million. He was Lou.
A Rottweiler mix, Lou began life as the feral offspring of guard dogs on a secret marijuana farm in northern California. One day, when a young teacher named Steve Duno happened by, all the puppies scattered but one. So begins the story of Last Dog on the Hill, in which this indignant young dog goes on to become a real-life hero.
Duno is a veteran pet behaviorist and author. He has trained thousands of dogs, and a good number of cats. Come meet him and hear Lou's amazing story first-hand!
