You are cordially invited to attend our every third Thursday of the month Book Club for grown-ups.
Going into our eighth year, our book club is a multi-generational, super-friendly, casually well-read group of men and women, Usually around 15-20 of us show up. It is one of the best groups to talk about a book with we've ever met! We primarily read fiction, with the inclusion once a year of: sci-fi, non-fiction, classics, and young adult titles. Stop by the shop anytime to peruse all our past titles going back to the beginning, as well as pick up a copy of this year's list!
This month's book is Lolita.
There's no need to register or RSVP. Just show up and join the lively discussion.
As always, our club books will be discounted 10% every month. Additionally, if your book club buys 3 or more copies of any one title, we’ll happily discount it, too!
Awe and exhiliration--along with heartbreak and mordant wit--abound in Lolita, Nabokov's most famous and controversial novel, which tells the story of the aging Humbert Humbert's obsessive, devouring, and doomed passion for the nymphet Dolores Haze. Lolita is also the story of a hypercivilized European colliding with the cheerful barbarism of postwar America.
