Steve Zakuani was born in the Congo and raised in London. He was the number 1 pick in the MLS superdraft in the Sounders FC's first season and led the team in scoring in the second season. Overcoming a horrific injury at the beginning of the third season, Steve is now back and excited to play in the upcoming 2012 season.
Clare Hodgson Meeker is an award-winning author of 10 books for children. Soccer Dreams combines a fictional story about a young boy from Kenya who moves to Seattle and helps his coach build a winning soccer team, with inspiring quotes, full-color photos and profiles of the Sounders FC coach and players.
Jesse Joshua Watson is a New York Times Bestselling illustrator of many books. Also an author, Jesse's book, Hope for Haiti, is an inspiring testament to the strength of the Haitian people and the power of soccer. Jesse's own passions about soccer were magnified by his trips to Haiti during which he saw, firsthand, the hope that this game can give children even in the midst of tragedy. Make soccer balls out of recycled plastic bags and rags like the characters in Meeker and Watson's soccer books. Free. Location:
