Young Readers Society, Every 4th Wednesday

My name is Suzi Spooner and I’m excited to announce that I will be taking over for Christina as the organizer for the Young Readers’ Society! A little about myself: I’m a graduate from Seattle Pacific University with a degree in illustration and a passion for books of all sorts but especially fantasy, historical fiction, and graphic novels.  Some fun facts? I have seven siblings! As of right now my hair is purple! I love playing violin! I hope you’ll come to our first meeting in October with fun facts about yourselves and some good discussion topics on our book. Which leads me to the next important subject: what we’re reading!

We’ll be starting off with Catherynne Valente’s The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of her Own Making (see below). A bit of a mouthful I know. Be sure to stop by our store to grab a copy, we may even have a few signed ones left from when Cat was here last week. In the coming months we’ll decide together what to read but this time it’s my choice! And I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Last but certainly not least, the day for our meetings has changed. It will now be 5-6pm on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

So please come October 25th at 5pm for pizza, fun discussion, and maybe even a special Halloween themed treat. If you’d like, come in costume and show off what you’re dressing up as for Halloween! Prizes for all costume wearers!

Questions? Call anytime and ask for Suzi Spooner.
