Garden Bookseller Keeps Winning Awards!




Our very own Alma Garcia De Lilla has won the Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers' Award for 2007. The foundation's program identifies and supports women writers of exceptional talent. The emphasis is on those in the early stages of their writing careers, and the award grants $25,000 each to writers of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.

Alma is one of six emerging women writers awarded in 2007. For the entire list, as well as info about Alma's writing, click here.

Alma has been a bookseller and curator of our ongoing art series at the Secret Garden for seven years.

We couldn't be more proud to have her among us, can't wait to read her book upon it's publication, and anticipate throwing her the best book launch party any writer has ever had!
