Ballard Art Walk with Mike Berry

Come join us for the Ballard Art Walk for March! We'll have folded paper artist Mike Berry showing work, AND doing live demos. Select items will be available for purchase. Most items are original designs, and inspirations include Junior Fritz and Paul Jackson. You can check out his work on Instagram:

Mike Berry is an origami artist that has been folding paper for 10 years. He got his start folding paper when he was teaching Preschool/Kindergarten at the Albany Free School in Albany, New York. He taught his students by using origami to bridge gaps between Social Studies, Science, and Math. Something about how the paper felt and the beautiful paper sculptures that were made kept Mike folding even when not teaching. He has not stopped since. He has folded professionally for movie releases (Kubo and the Two Strings), corporate events, numerous art showings, events around Albany, New York, Seattle, and libraries in both cities. Mike works as a teacher for art at Seattle Recreative in Greenwood. Seattle Recreative is a Non-Profit business that teaches better stewardship to the Earth, by using recycled products (in his case paper) to make art!
